At Powerfields Schools, we don’t just prepare students for the next class we prepare them for the next chapter of life. That vision came alive recently as we hosted a special “Day in College” event for our Year 6 pupils. With excitement in their eyes and curiosity in their hearts, the students were welcomed into the college arm of Powerfields Schools for a full day of immersive learning, exploration, and inspiration.
This signature event is part of our commitment to ensuring seamless academic transitions, particularly from elementary to college-level learning. It offers our learners a glimpse into the next phase of their educational journey, giving them a feel of the environment, expectations, and experiences that await them in Year 7 and beyond.
The “A Day in College” kicked off with a warm welcome by our college team who guided the Year 6 learners through their day. The students experienced real-time college classes, interacted with subject teachers, and participated in engaging learning activities that mirrored the structure and rhythm of college life. From science experiments to digital learning sessions and guided art classes, the pupils were given the opportunity to explore subjects beyond the elementary curriculum in a more dynamic and engaging format. They also had a tour of the school’s state-of-the-art facilities, including our innovation centre, music lab, ICT room, and college library further bridging the gap between aspiration and reality.
The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive. “I now look forward to Year 7,” one pupil shared enthusiastically. “It’s not as scary as I thought. I can’t wait to learn science with the big kids!” These moments affirm our belief that the best learning is that which goes beyond textbooks it’s about feeling seen, valued, and prepared. For many learners, the transition to a new academic level can be overwhelming. At Powerfields, we understand the emotional and academic leap that comes with moving into secondary education.
