A Brief History of Powerfields Group of Schools

Powerfields Group of Schools was established in 2014 after the acquisition of the Egbin Electric Power Plc. and NEPA Staff School. The school was formerly known as the NEPA Staff School; the NEPA Staff School was founded in October 1988 with nine (9) members of staff, and it grew rapidly until it was acquired by the proprietors of the Egbin Power Plc. in year 2014.
Powerfields Group of Schools is located at the serene and secure Egbin Power Plc. premises in Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos state and consists of a Pre-school, Elementary school and secondary school.
The school is widely known for the excellent academic performance of the students in external examinations.
The Pre-school and Elementary School operate as day schools, while the college operates as a day and boarding school.

The school fees are affordable and can be sent on request.
SIBLING REBATE
The school offers a sibling rebate of 10% on tuition fees only for the last child where a family has five (5) children.

CORPORATE DISCOUNTS
Discounts are available for corporate organizations, and this can be discussed with the school, and depends on the number of children the organization is enrolling.

Awards & Recognitions

Powerfields College is a force to be reckoned with. We have excelled in various inter – school competitions. Most recently, we featured in the Science Olympiad and were tops at the IDF Debate and Quiz competition. We also feature yearly and top the Nigerian Society of Engineers (Egbin Chapter), Science Quiz competitions and recently won their Hackathon Event at their 2021 Engineering Week. We have been top tenner’s two years consecutively at the Lagos State Physics competition. We have also been Top twenty at the JETs competition junior category.

Our Goals

The goals of Powerfields Group of Schools for children, addresses all the domains of child development –   emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical. Children enrolled at the Powerfields Group of Schools will.

School activities begin with the morning assembly at 7:45am and closes at 1:00pm.

There are 5 periods in the Reception and Playgroup classes and 6 periods in the Nursery
classes.

There are a maximum of 12 pupils per class.

There are a total of 11 fully qualified teachers and 5 caregivers.

The school runs a blend of the Nigerian and EYFS curriculum.

There are sports and club activities for the pupils. The clubs include the art and craft club,
football club, music and rhyme, Phonics and taekwondo clubs. Enrichment programs like the Spelling
Bee, Fairy tales Day, Pyjamas Day are also carried out on a regularly to spice up the curriculum.

Discipline in the preschool is generally guidance oriented. Erring pupils are made to realize their
mistake/ faults and where need be time-outs are applied as consequence for wrong doings.

The school offers meals for the pupils at a cost. This is however not compulsory as pupils have
the option of bring their snacks and food from home.

Parent-teacher meetings are held termly. Parents can also meet with teachers when the need
arises.

The school has zero-tolerance for bullying; hence there are regular awareness session for pupils and teachers on bullying and it effects.

Online resources, audio and visual tools are an integral component of teaching and learning in
the school.

Currently, parents make private arrangements.

Calls are made to parents whose children are absent from school and when a child is
repeatedly noticed to be absent from school, a discussion is had with the parents regarding the issue.

Safety and security are of great importance to the school; hence fire and lockdown drills are organized termly as a reminder for best safety acts during emergencies.

Yes, there is a discount on the last child for parents who have a certain number of children in the school.
